In a game of chess there is a very definite beginning, middle, and end. I felt that the ballet needed to have a similarly linear story line.

I made photocopies of the music so I could mark them up and proceeded to wallpaper my room with them.

As I listened to the music, I could see the entire score before me and could jot down notes for the dramatic action on each page. In this way I began to piece together a narrative for the ballet.
